Thoughts after a 5-hour group Vipassana meditation session a couple of weeks ago.
Stumbled on this on my way back from Southampton (from “Zorba the Greek”):
Whether it’s to people, things or outcomes, we all have attachments. We cling to what we desire and even to what we hate. In Vipassana, they teach that true freedom comes with letting go of cravings and aversions. It’s easy to say “happiness is a journey, not a destination”, but you can only enjoy that journey if you can comfortably and honestly live in the space created by detachment.
