Self bullshitting

  • by

You can gauge your progress in your self development journey by the quality of the bullshit you tell yourself.

Positive self talk is one of the hardest skills to master. A telltale sign yours is not on track with who you want to be, is when you constantly come up with excuses.

Improving your self talk is hard because it requires constant monitoring and self awareness. You know you have some control on it when you feel like a third person listening to yourself.

When all this third person hears is BS, you know you have some work to do.

BS is easy to dismiss when you recognize it as such. It’s harder when you start coming up with quality, intelligently crafted BS masqueraded as legit justifications.

That’s a sign you have taken your self talk to another level and you need to be even more careful.

Listen, take it as a good sign of progress but don’t give in.
